A patented tetrapeptide developed by Lipotect specifically to reduce puffiness and dark rings under the eyes. The award-winning formula (awarded “Best New Technology” by Cosmetics & Toiletries magazine and Health and Beauty America) fights puffiness by improving vascular health, strengthening the skin under the eyes, and preventing fluid accumulation, all while protecting against the breakdown of collagen.
In clinical studies, Eyeseryl® was shown to reduce under-eye puffiness in 95 percent of test subjects, with 70 percent of subjects showing improvement in just 15 days. It was also shown to significantly reduce the appearance of dark under-eye circles. After 60 days of use, skin tone and firmness were also measurably improved.
A synthetic tripeptide known as Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate. It mimics the muscle-freezing activity of the venom found in the Temple Viper snake as the amino acids in Syn®-ake block specific receptor sites in muscle tissue and disable the muscle tissue’s ability to create a muscle contraction.
It’s becoming a well-known topical alternative to Botox injections, used to combat wrinkles and decrease “expression lines” such as crow’s feet.
Studies have shown that Syn®-ake can reduce wrinkles in the forehead by up to 52% and were shown effective on crow’s feet as well. In vitro studies showed that Syn®-ake is able to reduce the frequency of muscle contractions by 82%. And it can also help prevent damage to the collagen matrix that keeps our skin strong and wrinkle-free.
A new anti-aging formula produced by Pentapharm, created specifically to address dark circles and puffiness beneath the eyes. Comprised of purified soy and rice peptides plus biotechnologically produced yeast protein, Regu®-age has been shown to reduce blood clotting beneath the eye, improve oxygen supply to tissue, protect the integrity of the collagen and elastin, and reduce the effects of free radicals to reduce inflammation.
The result is a significant reduction in dark under-eye circles and puffiness — with skin that looks firmer, more elastic, and more youthful.
In a clinical trial, 20 subjects aged 30 and older applied Regu®-age (5% concentration) twice daily for eight weeks. After four weeks, significant reductions could be seen in wrinkles and fine lines, dark under-eye circles, and puffiness. At the conclusion of the study, dark circles around the eye were reduced by an average of 35 percent. Eye puffiness was reduced by 32 percent.
Stimulates the synthesis of collagen I (the body’s most common form of collagen) in healthy human fibroblasts by 1190%.
ProCollONe+ is derived from natural sources and has no unpleasant side effects. Known to consolidate the “dermal mattress” (the dermal layer of the skin), it has quickly become the new benchmark ingredient in collagen synthesis.
In a 56-day study, participants applied the ingredient at a two percent concentration twice daily. The surface roughness of skin was reduced by an average of almost 10 percent. Seventy-eight percent of participants cited a noticeable difference in the smoothness of their skin.
Skin moisturizer that enhances the bioavailability of other ingredients. Proven in study to increase skin moisturization by 100% in a 14-day period.
Permeates skin by moving between cells rather than passing through the cells directly. Clinically proven to protect against UV damage, promote collagen synthesis, reduce deep wrinkles, smooth skin surface, and promote moisture retention.
Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice: Aloe has been shown very effective in treating facial edema (swelling) and is an excellent remedy for ocular edema (puffy eyes). It naturally contains polysaccharides (which stimulate skin growth and repair), amino acids, essential fatty acids (which act as an anti-inflammatory for the skin), glycoproteins (which speed the healing process by reducing pain and inflammation), minerals, vitamin C and E, and zinc, plus a variety of other enzymes and constituents. Aloe vera enhances the ability of fibroblasts to support collagen production. The beneficial effects of aloe vera in skincare are clinically proven.
Caprylic Capric Triglycerides: Forms a barrier on the skin’s surface to protect against moisture loss as well as soothes, softens, and moisturizes skin. It is colorless and odorless and safe for sensitive skin. It goes on smoothly and is rapidly absorbed by the skin and has a light, non-oily texture.
Beta Glucan: Sugars extracted from the cell walls of oats and barley, plus bacteria, fungi, yeast, algae and lichens. Beta glucans are applied to the skin for anti-wrinkle purposes, but have a much longer history of use in treating eczema, burns, and wounds, and have been shown to reduce scarring after surgery. Long used as a moisturizer capable of forming a film over the skin, beta glucan is an anti-irritant that stimulates collagen deposition. It also supports the health of macrophages, which are the cells that destroy bacteria, dead or mutated skin cells, environmental toxins, etc. Macrophages exist all over our bodies. Our macrophage cells are damaged over time through exposure to sunlight, soaps and cosmetics, chlorine, and more. When macrophages are brought back to a healthy condition, skin has renewed immunity and can easily remove dead and damaged cells.
Study #1: “In a recent beta glucan skin care study, several hundred women were given a topical cream containing mostly beta glucan. The effects on the signs of aging in the skin were evaluated. Compared with the control group, a 27 percent improvement in skin hydration was observed after eight weeks of use twice daily. An improvement in lines and wrinkles of 47% was measured, firmness and elasticity increased by 60%, and skin color improved by 26%. The rate of skin renewal increased by 34%.”
Study #2: Beta glucan has the ability to penetrate the epidermis and reach the dermis (the middle layer of skin, where wrinkles are formed). As such, it may be used as a transdermal delivery system to deliver other nutrients to the dermis. Beta glucan is currently of interest as a possible non-invasive alternative to Botox. Note that most of the interest in beta glucan is based on the results of one study (2005, Dr. Pillai, International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists).
Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5: Has anti-edema properties that help to reduce puffiness around the eye. Peptides are common, effective ingredients in skincare products. They are short-chain proteins that occur naturally in the skin and act as messengers or hormones. They have been shown to play a key natural role in helping the skin to heal itself. They help stimulate the desired action to preserve the intercellular matrix and reduce wrinkling and skin degeneration. The amino acids help increase skin moisture. Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 has been shown to reduce the decomposition of collagen, to increase lymph flow, and to prevent edema.
Study: In vitro and in vivo tests have shown that Eyeseryl® [water, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5] fights against oedema-forming mechanisms and shows a decongesting effect, enhancing elasticity and skin smoothness. Eyeseryl® prevents collagen cross-linking via inhibition of collagen glycation, thereby avoiding the loss of elasticity and subsequent eye bag formation. Eye bags were reduced in 70% of the volunteers after 28 days with 1% eyeseryl Solution. Puffy eye bags were decreased in only 14 days with a draining and decongesting effect. Skin elasticity had a 30% increase after 30 days.
Hydrolyzed Rice Bran Protein: Hydrolyzed Rice Bran Protein is a cosmetic grade vegetable protein that is extracted from rice bran. It is known for efficacy for allergy-prone and sensitive skin. Rice protein has a unique ability to bind with oils, which enhances the skin’s ability to bind moisture, resulting in hydrated skin with increased elasticity. Smoothes and brightens the skin. Rice bran extract also contains antioxidants and vitamin B5, which help improve cellular circulation.
Oxido Reductases: Enzymes that promote and accelerate antioxidant activity. They help antioxidants reduce collagen and elastin breakdown and loss. They work by allowing the transfer of one molecule to another molecule. They are used in skincare products along with antioxidants to prolong antioxidant activity and life span, while also boosting the skin’s tolerance by supplying enzymes required for antioxidant activity (so these enzymes don’t have to be drawn from the skin). In combination with antioxidants, oxidoreductases can be both anti-inflammatory and photo-protective, and thus excellent for reducing puffiness around the eyes.
Glycine Soja (Soybean) Protein: Glycine Soja (Soybean) Protein is the dipeptide and tripeptide fraction of soybean protein. Peptides are common, effective ingredients in skincare products. They are short-chain proteins that occur naturally in the skin and act as messengers or hormones. They have been shown to play a key role in helping the skin to heal itself. They help stimulate the desired action to preserve the intercellular matrix and reduce wrinkling and skin degeneration. The amino acids help increase skin moisture.
Study Results For Last 3 Ingredients: Hydrolyzed Rice Bran Protein, Glycine Soja (Soya Bean) Protein, Oxido Reductases is an important new skin treatment active that reduces dark circles and puffiness around the eyes, improves micro-circulation, strengthens native collagen and elastin matrix, and reduces the presence of free radicals to delay the visible signs of premature aging. Twenty subjects aged 30 and older, with dry skin and exhibiting some of the visible signs of aging, applied the treatment twice a day (AM & PM) for 8 weeks. After 4 weeks of treatment, it was observed that there was a significant reduction in wrinkles / fine lines, under-eye dark circles, and puffiness. A 35% reduction in dark circles was observed around the eye after 8 weeks, as well as a 32% reduction in eye puffiness.
Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate: A synthetic tripeptide distributed under the trade name Syn-ake. It mimics the neuromuscular blocking compound (a peptide called Waglerin 1) of the Temple Viper snake (Tropidolaemus wagleri). The amino acids in Syn-ake block the acetylcholine receptor sites in muscle tissue. This disables the muscle tissue’s ability to create a muscle contraction. Syn-ake is garnering comparisons to Botox. Used to combat wrinkles, it is particularly effective in decreasing “expression lines” such as crow’s feet. It is a relative newcomer to the anti-wrinkle industry and is getting a good deal of attention.
Study: In a study conducted by Pentapharm, the makers of Syn®-ake, 45 volunteers applied Syn®-ake twice daily for 28 days. The study concluded that Syn®-ake can reduce wrinkles (forehead) by up to 52% and were shown effective on crow’s feet as well. In vitro studies showed that Syn®-ake is able to “reduce the frequency of contractions of innervated muscle cells by 82%.”
Hydrolyzed Soybean Fiber: Renews fibroblast activity to increase collagen production. Composed primarily of amino acids, peptides, and proteins, soy extract is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. It contains a polypeptide that is responsible for its significant moisturizing properties.
Vitus Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil: Commonly used in cosmetics for its moisturizing properties. Extracted from grape seed, as the name would suggest, the oil is light and thin and is an excellent carrier oil for essential oils. It is also an astringent, helping to tighten and tone the skin. Grape Seed Oil contains linoleic acid, which is important for cell membranes, and a powerful antioxidant called proanthocyanidins, which is helpful in wound healing.
Cyclopentasiloxane: Fills in fine lines on the skin to create a temporary plumping effect.
Glyceryl Stearate: Softens the skin and helps protect against moisture loss.
Panthenol: Panthenol is a derivative of vitamin B5, or pantothenic acid, that is typically plant-derived. Pantothenic acid is a natural substance of all living cells and tissues and is necessary for proper metabolic function and the manufacturing of hormones. Although it is a derivative of vitamin B5, panthenol is considered a pro-vitamin of pantothenic acid and alcohol. Panthenol penetrates into the second layer of skin (the dermis) and can help stabilize the skin’s metabolism. Panthenol can aid in evening skin tone by stimulating skin pigment formation. Panthenol penetrates the skin and helps stimulate skin cell renewal and promotes epithelialization, which is the skin’s ability to heal over a wound. It is also effective as an anti-inflammatory for skin trauma or allergies.
Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract: Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract helps reduce redness and is a powerful anti-inflammatory, and contains very powerful antioxidants to fight the environmental free radicals that damage the DNA of skin cells. A polyphenol (antioxidant) in green tea called Epigallocatechin galate (EGCC) is 200 times more powerful than vitamin E for fighting free radicals, and has been shown to be effectively absorbed via the skin. Green tea helps inhibit the action of collagenase, which is the enzyme that breaks down collagen; using green tea extract topically promotes collagen health and formation, thereby promoting skin firmness and elasticity. Green tea extract is also an astringent, and also contains Methylxanthines, which stimulate skin microcirculation and help provide healthy skin tone. Green tea extract is photo protective (which means it boosts the skin’s natural defenses against UV rays) and reduces erythema (redness of the skin cause by engorged capillaries beneath the skin).
Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract: Very high in antioxidants, especially bioflavonoids, which have antioxidant properties that are much more powerful than vitamins C and E. Useful for fighting free radicals and for maintaining capillary health, grape seed extract offers powerful protection against the breakdown of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, which together make up much of the cellular matrix and support the capillaries. When capillaries are strong, they stretch to allow red blood cells through tight spaces, and do not let fluids in the blood leak out. When they are weak, blood can pool and create inflammation. Grape seed extract has also been shown to treat edema (swelling) as well.
Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Extract: Contains plant pigments called anthocyanosides that have powerful antioxidant properties, as well as vitamin C. Together they scavenge free radicals and help skin maintain elasticity with a healthy collagen and elastin matrix. Often used in the treatment of vascular and vision disorders, bilberry extract is known to improve blood circulation.
Silybum Marianum (Milk Thistle) Extract: The active ingredient in the extract is called silymarin, and is made up of three bioflavonoids, silybin, silydianin, and silychristine, extracted from the fruit, seeds, and leaves of the milk thistle plant. These bioflavonoids have very high antioxidant activity. Milk thistle also smoothes and softens the skin and acts as an anti-inflammatory.
Pinus PinasterBark (Maritime Pine) Extract: An excellent source of flavonoids, catechins, proanthocyanidins, and phenoloic acids – all of which act as powerful antioxidants. Maritime Pine extract is a natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that works to protect the skin from harmful free radicals, boost the immune system, and strengthen blood vessel walls and capillaries. Pine bark extract has been used topically to heal wounds and other skin conditions for centuries.
Ginkgo Biloba Extract: Works as a vasodilator to increase circulation and improve sebaceous secretions (the skin’s lubricant produced by our tiny sebaceous glands). It helps improve tissue irrigation and activate cell metabolism by increasing glucose and oxygen uptake by the cells. Ginkgo Biloba is an anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic, and a good antioxidant. It stimulates the fibroblasts to produce collagen and helps strengthen “extracellular fibronectin.”
Sodium Lactate: Acts as a penetration enhancer that alters the skin structure to allow other ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin. It is used to supplement the skin’s own naturally occurring sodium lactate to provide added moisturization and skin conditioning. Sodium Lactate is a humectant and an exfoliant, and also balances a product’s pH balance. It is one part of the Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) and helps renew skin cells. It is also used to prevent pigmentation in the skin and often found in skin whitening products. It has antioxidant properties as well.
